2017 Research/Bargaining Conference

You are invited to the 2017 State Education Research Staff Association (SERSA) / National Association of Bargaining Professionals (NABP) Research and Bargaining Conference which will be held December 5 – 7, 2017 at the Marriott in Clearwater Beach, FL. This year’s conference will include three full days of workshops including a full day bargaining “pre-conference”.

Each of the five topic areas will include a presentation of information, references to use in bargaining and research and an interactive activity designed for dialog and sharing.

Conference Topics:
• One day workshop for bargainers and those who support the bargaining process
• Threats to public education and strategies for how to navigate a post agency fee world
• The Future of the Affordable Care Act and How it Will Affect Bargaining
• Using ESSA for your needs
• Revenue sources for Education

If you are a SERSA member, your membership includes the conference registration fee. If you are a NABP member, your registration fee is $100. If you are not a current member of SERSA or NABP, the conference registration fee is $200.

Hotel Registration
SERSA has guaranteed a block of rooms at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key, 1201 Gulf Boulevard, in Clearwater Beach, FL for December 5 – 7. We also have a limited number of rooms three days pre/post conference. The standard suite rate is $159/nt. and includes internet access and parking. The conference will be held at the Marriott hotel as well. The number of rooms at this price is limited so make your reservations as soon as possible. The deadline is October 27. Eligibility for membership (from Article III, SERSA Constitution)

Active membership shall be open to those staff members of state education associations which are affiliated with NEA and NEA staff who are engaged in research and advocacy activities.

Associate membership in the Association shall be open to state and local UniServ staff and retired SERSA members and may be extended by invitation to individuals provided such invitation has been presented to and voted upon favorably by the SERSA membership at any regular meeting of the Association.

Dues (from Article V, SERSA Bylaws)

The dues shall be two hundred ($200) dollars for active members and fifty ($50) dollars for associate members. The membership year shall be January 1 through December 31.
